Ohio's Unemployment

You know when you hear those phrases from politicians that the economy is growing and you wonder where the hell they get their information? The new Ohio unemployment rates are out today and it doesn't look so good.

"Ohio's unemployment rate was 5.9 percent in August, up from 5.7 percent in July, according to data released this morning by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Ohio's nonfarm wage and salary employment declined 4,000 over the month, from 5,437,400 in July to 5,433,400 in August." http://jfs.ohio.gov/releases/unemp/UnempPressRelease.htm

Who do we have to thank for this increase in unemployment? There are several individuals and groups who are responsible for this growth in unemployment: Gov. Bob Taft (the golfing, incompetent governor), The Ohio Republican Party (doing their part to make sure their contributors get the contracts, and doing nothing to increase employment), Rep. Deborah Pryce (15th district-OH, and Tom DeLay's understudy, pal, and big friend of banks, insurance companies, and security firms). Note: By the way, Pryce serves on the House Committee on Financial Services which oversees banks, insurance companies, and security firms. http://www.opensecrets.org/indivs/search.asp?NumOfThou=0&txtName=&txtState=%28all+states%29&txtZip=&txtEmploy=bank&txtCand=Pryce%2C+deborah&txt2004=Y&txt2002=Y&Order=N

In summary, the unemployed people of Ohio and their families wish to thank the National and Ohio Republican Parties for adding to their misery and doing NOTHING for them. Ohio needs a change of leadership.
