Senator George McGovern

Many years ago, I was a volunteer for the presidential campaign of Sen. George McGovern. It was the first campaign in which I became actively involved. Sen. McGovern had been a war hero in World War II, served three terms in the U.S. Senate, and bravely opposed the policies of Richard Nixon.

I offer my sympathies to the McGovern family at his passing.
