Ohio GOP vs RNC?

It appears that there are some disagreements between the Ohio GOP and the National Republican Party. Dispatch:

Ohio Republican Chairman Kevin DeWine fears that his national party will embarrass itself today by voting to "re-brand" the Democratic Party.

Joining other GOP state chairmen in Washington for a meeting sponsored by the Republican National Committee, DeWine will vote no on a scheduled resolution calling on Democrats to rename their party the "Democrat Socialist Party."

Kevin DeWine must be aware of some of these recent findings that were listed in the same Dispatch article:

....in Ohio, Democrats had a nearly 1 million voter-registration advantage over Republicans going into last November's presidential election. Trends showing growing numbers of young and minority Americans rejecting the GOP are especially ominous....

Ouch! Is the Ohio GOP becoming an endangered species? Without an agenda focused on solving our nation's problems, and a leadership represented by Dick Cheney and Rush Limbaugh, people are staying away from the Republican Party like it was a toxic waste dump. If the Ohio GOP is unable to come to terms with their national party, will this only add to their problems?
