Iraq has its government in place and now we need to bring our military people home. This past week a large number young soldiers from Ohio were killed in a mission called "Operation Matador." I don't care what these military operations are named, it is time that we let our marines and soldiers come home. Iraq is a hell. We were lied to about the reasons for the war, and I am sure that the lies continuing for our ongoing presence. Our government tells us how many American military were killed, but how many died on the way to or in the military hospitals?
Despite the loss of life, there are still people who are cheerleaders for the Iraq war. Condi Rice paid a surprise visit to Iraq and told the troops that there is progress being made in Iraq. On Saturday, the New York Times had an OP-CHART that described the thirty good things that happened in Iraq in April. It was a disgusting attempt to try to promote some incidental events in Iraq. The truth is that over 50 Americans died in Iraq in April. When over 50 families lose loved ones, there is nothing to celebrate. As of today, 1622 Americans have died in Iraq. My prayers go out to each of their families for their sacrifice. For updates on U.S. casualties, visit http://icasualties.org/oif/ .
