Democrats Are Getting Work Done in DC

One of the Republican talking points is that the Democratic Party is not accomplishing anything since they've taken over the majority of the House and the Senate. However, the Republicans are WRONG! How about that!!! Wrong again!!!!

In my recent issue of Emily's List, a number of statistics were mentioned that definitely knock your socks off. (You should write this down so you can throw them at your right wing acquaintances.) Here are some of the numbers from Emily's List--

The Democratic-controlled House has spent 49 days in session vs 27 under Republicans.

Democrats passed 31 substantive measures under the Dems vs. 13 under the GOP.
Dems had 264 oversight hearings vs. 135 under the GOP.
Dems held 74 hearings about Iraq vs. only 33 under the GOP.
The Democratic controlled Congress has passed 16 bills that were signed into law vs. only 6 during the same period of 2005 when the GOP had control.

WOW!!!! It looks like the Democrats know how to get things done (unlike the do-nothing Republicans).
