Ohio GOP Nightmare Comes True: Early Voting is Legal

In some dark room, Ohio Republican strategists are scratching their heads trying to figure out what went wrong. According to the courts, it is perfectly legal for Ohio voters to register to vote this week, and then cast their vote. Ohio Republicans are worried sick. What if there really are fair elections in Ohio? What will Republicans do when all the votes are counted this time? What will happen if over 300,000 Ohioans cast early votes?

Vote early. Vote for Obama. Vote Democratic.

We need to let the Ohio Republicans know that we remember the years that they were in control of voting. Because of the Ohio GOP and Kenneth Blackwell, we have suffered through 8 years of the worst President ever.

Republicans and McCain Should Stop the Lies and the Whining

John Boehner blamed the failure of the bailout vote on Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's speech. Give me a break. Boehner's failure to get his own members in line was his own fault. The Republicans are cry babies. Whaa! Whaa! Whaa!

Now, John McCain said he tried to work with his party members. Really? He was working? When President Bush had the big meeting in the White House, McCain had nothing to say. While other members of Congress were working, McCain was working on his campaign and went to dinner with his BFF, Lieberman. How can anyone believe anything that comes out of McCain's mouth? Besides, McCain's calls for deregulating banks has caused this financial meltdown. McCain's past scandal, the Keating Five, can be told in a video from Huffington Post and You Tube:



John McCain and Phil Gramm did a lot to push deregulation in the late '90's. They embraced taking down barriers for Wall Street firms and banks. This helped create the current disaster we see now.

A vote for McCain is a vote for a complete collapse of our economy because McCain doesn't know much about economics.

* Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Joe Biden, drew a crowd of approximately 35,000 in downtown Detroit, according to First Read. At another rally in Greensboro, North Carolina, 18,000 people came out to see Obama (News-Record).

Sen. Obama was very impressive in tonight's debate. Here are a few things he mentioned-----

...we've spent over $600 billion in Iraq and are spending $10 billion/month in Iraq.
....that President Bush, who has been supported by McCain 90% of the time, has had an "orgy of spending."
....that eliminating earmarks alone will not get the middle class back on sure footing.
....McCain wants to cut the business tax. McCain's tax cuts would give CEO's an average tax cut of $700,000.
.....McCain has indeed voted against alternative/clean energy (Link).
......McCain would tax health benefits.


McCain said he would have a spending freeze. Actually, McCain's entire economic policies was all about cutting spending and eliminating earmarks. He wants to eliminate ethanol subsidies. It seems that McCain wants to remain in Iraq for many years to come but he doesn't seem to have a real plan for going after Bin Laden.

I though that McCain was very demeaning and insulting to Obama. McCain repeatedly said, "Sen. Obama doesn't understand." Who does McCain think he is? Why does McCain continue to talk about Ronald Reagan as something great? I don't think Reagan was that impressive as a president. McCain also wanted to start an organization of nations. Hello! Did McCain forget that there are organizations like NATO and the United Nations????

People have a real choice in this election. If you want to continue the war in Iraq for several more years, give more tax cuts to oil companies and the wealthy, McCain is your candidate.

However, if you think it is time to get Bin Laden, bring our troops home from Iraq, and give tax breaks to the middle class, Obama is your candidate.

I'm choosing Obama. We can't afford another four years of the same failed policies.

By the way, McCain says he supports our troops. Hmmm. The truth is McCain wants to ration veterans' medical benefits and he did not support the New G.I. Bill.

Agreement Was Ready, Then McCain Showed Up in DC

I just saw Rep. Barney Frank on C-SPAN addressing the press. He said they had worked out a bi-partisan agreement with Senate Democrats, Senate Republicans, House Democrats, and Secretary of Treasury Paulson. However, the House Republicans had refused to negotiate and instead offered some type of insurance plan which Paulson said would not work. It looks like John Boehner and the House Republicans are getting coached by John McCain. Did McCain show up today to try to get credit for a plan? McCain doesn't even serve on a Senate Committee that would be responsible for any of these Wall Street or banking problems. Obviously, McCain has influenced Boehner and the House Republicans to the point that they are now holding up the agreement. Word has it that the White House meeting with Bush was a worthless event.

> Do you remember when McCain said he was suspending his campaign? That was just baloney. His ads are still on TV and radio. He continues to do fundraising and making appearances. The McCain organization appears to be on the brink of total collapse. They seem to have no direction or stability. McCain's vice presidential running mate is definitely not ready for prime time. McCain is just plain scares me.

> Sen. Barack Obama will be at the debate tomorrow night. Although no one is sure that McCain will appear, it almost doesn't matter. McCain seems to be suffering from something. If Sen. Obama is the only candidate on the stage, it will allow voters to get to know him better.

What the heck is going on with McCain?

After the bizarre news that John McCain was suspending his campaign because of the country's financial crisis, people started asking questions about McCain and his campaign. McCain asked Sen. Obama to suspend his campaign also and cancel Friday's debate an that they should go to Washington to solve the Wall Street problems. Huh??????? McCain is not on a committee that would oversee Wall Street. How long does McCain want to suspend his campaign? Months? Years??

It appears that John McCain called David Letterman to cancel his appearance on the Late Show because he had to rush back to Washington. Unfortunately, McCain was caught in a lie and it was Letterman who exposed it. Huffington Post had it first (You Tube):

The McCain Campaign

John McCain's speeches are not very exciting. McCain reads the same speech over and over again from a teleprompter, yet he doesn't have the speech memorized. Many times during his speeches, McCain's voice is completely devoid of any emotion.

Recent polls show that Barack Obama is gaining support. However, John McCain, who just discovered the collapse of Wall Street, thinks they should suspend the campaigns and cancel the debate. Oh, my. McCain, the grand architect of deregulation, is partly to blame for the whole Wall Street mess.

On MSNBC-TV right now, Sen. Sherrod Brown (OH-D) said that he thinks the McCain request to cancel the debate is a bit of a gimmick. Sen. Brown says that some protections for taxpayers must be built into any bailout plan. McCain was too busy to show up to vote for the New G.I. Bill. Now McCain is suddenly interested in what legislation is before the Senate.

Bush and the GOP Created the Mess on Wall Street

Because President Bush, Sen. McCain, and the GOP pushed deregulation, the rest of us are being handed a $700 billion bailout scheme. Americans have had enough and are now blaming the White House and the Republicans for this huge disaster.

Here is some new information from a brand new CNN Poll:

A new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll suggests that by a 2-to-1 margin, Americans blame Republicans over Democrats for the financial crisis that has swept across the country the past few weeks....

In the new survey, released Monday afternoon, 47 percent of registered voters questioned say Republicans are more responsible for the problems currently facing financial institutions and the stock market, with 24 percent saying Democrats are more responsible......

I'm glad to see that people are starting to realize that the Bush administration and the Republicans are responsible for all of these disasters. We have a national debt of over 9 TRILLION DOLLARS, which does not the costs of the Iraq war. With the help of Bush-Cheney-McCain, the oil companies were given the right to charge anything they want, while they racked up obscene profits off the backs of American workers.

It is time to set the course for a new direction. It is time to stand up for yourself and your family. Vote for Obama for President.

Which candidate knows how this economy hurts?

John McCain wants to ration veterans medical benefits. McCain has had free medical treatment his entire adult life.

Barack Obama's family had to use food stamps when he was a youngster. Both Senator Obama and his wife, Michelle, just recently finished paying off their student loans.

Which candidate understands and relates to the struggle of raising a family in our modern times? Which candidate understands economics? I believe that Senator Obama understands that Americans are having a difficult time in this economy. Sen. Obama knows how to get our people back to work and fix this mess left to us by Bush, Cheney, and McCain.

Skeptical about Bush Bailout Plan

I've become a skeptic. We've heard so many lies from the Bush administration, I think I need more information about the Bush plan to bailout Wall Street. Here are a few reminders:

* Bush + Co. said there were WMDs in Iraq.
* The Bush administration said they were not using torture on detainees.
* George W. Bush promised, if he were elected in 2000, that he would bring dignity and honesty back into the White House.
* They (the administration) told us that we'd be greeted as liberators.
* They said the war would not last long.
* They said the economy was fine.
* They've refused to protect the environment, and our food.
* They said they'd punish the person who leaked the name of an undercover CIA agent.
* They've tried to hide the deaths and injuries of our men and women in the military by not allowing pictures of the returning flag-draped coffins or pictures of funerals.
ETC.

The Bush administration wants to throw $700 billion down Wall Street. However, Secretary of the Treasury Henry Paulson wants to maintain the salaries of the CEO's and officers of the firms. I think this is wrong. Because of the mismanagement and greed of the CEO's and officers, their companies/firms/corporations are teetering on the brink of total collapse. Bush, Paulson, and these Wall Street CEO's cannot have it all. There should be some negotiations regarding what exactly will/will not be covered, how homeowners near foreclosure can be included, and how to guarantee the repayment of the loans to taxpayers and the federal government.

I am not a Wall Street guru but I believe that there should be some give and take on any settlement or bailout plan.

McCain's Lastest Cockamamie Idea: Deregulate Health Care

John McCain and his Republican cohorts would like to deregulate everything. We've seen how well that has gone in the banking industry, and the financial markets. Now McCain suggests deregulating health care. From Paul Krugman of the New York Times (also posted at Huntington Post):

.....a correspondent directs me to John McCain’s article, Better Health Care at Lower Cost for Every American, in the Sept./Oct. issue of Contingencies, the magazine of the American Academy of Actuaries. Here’s what McCain has to say about the wonders of market-based health reform:

Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation.

So McCain, who now poses as the scourge of Wall Street, was praising financial deregulation like 10 seconds ago — and promising that if we marketize health care, it will perform as well as the financial industry!

McCain suggests we deregulate health care. This would mean that health insurance companies would charge whatever they wish, and cover whatever they damn well please. This sounds like another idea from McCain that would just create more chaos. I'd like to know if this deregulation of health care was one of his ideas or if it came from one of his campaign staff/lobbyists.

After hearing McCain this week change his mind three times about a Wall Street bailout, I think McCain is having some major problems. I'll leave it at that.

Many Voters Concerned About McCain's Health and Age

If you've seen pictures of John McCain in recent days, you'll notice that he doesn't look well. As a 72 year old man on a rigorous campaign schedule, he looks tired and old. His four bouts with cancer, leave many people wondering if he could survive an entire term. He is making gaffes (the interview about Spain) and appears confused. Do you really think that McCain is fully capable and healthy enough to be President? I don't think so.

What does McCain have to offer us that is new and fresh? Nothing. McCain has voted to supported the policies of George W. Bush 90% of the time. Do you really think that John McCain is going to change? Do you know any 72 year old men who have suddenly changed their philosophy or beliefs?

As a woman, I am highly insulted that McCain doesn't believe that women deserve equal pay. He said women need more training and education. McCain might not realize that there are many women who are the primary breadwinners in their families. However, John McCain believes that despite a woman's education and work experience, she does not deserve the same pay as a man with similar education and experience.

McCain is also against a woman having the right to her own reproductive freedom. Is this another case where McCain believes that women aren't smart enough to make their own decisions?

* Did you know that Alaska has the highest sexual assault rate in the country? (DailyIowan) What has Sarah Palin done to decrease it? It appears nothing. What about this "Troopergate" scandal? What are Sarah and Todd Palin trying to hide? Why are McCain's operatives working in Alaska to delay the investigation? I thought it was the 'straight talk' campaign.

Our country has plenty of problems in front of us--- the financial markets, record unemployment, Bush's Iraq war, a huge deficit, our crumbling infrastructure, homelessness, poverty, the foreclosure crisis, etc., etc., etc. By electing Bush's primary cheerleader, John McCain, our country will continue to wallow in these problems. It is time for change and new ideas. It is time for Obama-Biden.

Obama Understands the Middle Class

As a child, Barack Obama lived on food stamps. Sen. and Mrs. Obama went to college with college loans and only recently finished paying them off. Obama understands the struggles that people go through when they lose their jobs, healthcare, and homes.

A McCain supporter, Lady Rothschild, said that Obama is an 'elitist.' Seriously, is this the best that the McCain camp can do???? Lady Rothschild???? I'm not sure which castle or mansion she'll be returning to after she campaigns for McCain.

McCain: Clueless on Fixing the Economy

While the stock markets hit the bottom, John McCain is completely clueless. While unemployment increases across the country, John McCain repeats the empty words.

However, we know a little about McCain's approach to economics: deregulation and ignorance.

McCain: ‘I Don’t Claim to Be Smart Enough’ to Offer Solution to Mortgage Crisis. “I know that [Treasury Secretary Henry] Paulson, those people are working. I know that the FHA is working and the other alphabet soup organizations. But I don’t know how bad it’s gonna get, and obviously the worse it gets then the more there is a role for government. ....In early 1995, after Republicans had taken control of Congress, Mr. McCain promoted a moratorium on federal regulations of all kinds. He was quoted as saying that excessive regulations were “destroying the American family, the American dream” and voters “want these regulations stopped.” The moratorium measure was unsuccessful.

“I’m always for less regulation,” he told The Wall Street Journal last March, “but I am aware of the view that there is a need for government oversight” in situations like the subprime lending crisis, the problem that has cascaded through Wall Street this year. He concluded, “but I am fundamentally a deregulator.”

Later that month, he gave a speech on the housing crisis in which he called for less regulation, saying, “Our financial market approach should include encouraging increased capital in financial institutions by removing regulatory, accounting and tax impediments to raising capital.”

(Background: Since Palin's claim to fame is that she thinks she is qualified in foreign affairs because Alaska is close to Russia, the radio show has poked fun at her lack of qualifications and vetting. Also, Stephanie and the "Mooks" call Palin "Caribou Barbie.")

Yesterday, listeners gave their qualifications for various posts within the McCain-Palin administration (One listener ate Chinese food and wanted to be the Ambassador to China.) It was hilarious and it continues today.

More Malarkey from McCain Campaign

Today, one of McCain's staffers claimed that McCain invented the Blackberry. Was this just another Republican attempt at humor or did someone on the McCain staff really think that anyone would believe that malarkey?

McCain claimed he wanted to have a 9/11 type commission to talk about what to do about the ups and downs of Wall Street. This just shows you that McCain is completely clueless in how to solve the financial crisis in this country. While people lose their savings, retirement funds, and jobs, McCain and his running mate give the same old worn out speech about how they are both mavericks. Because McCain doesn't use or understand the internet, he doesn't know the importance of technology in our lives and in the work force. How can he think about innovation when he doesn't understand it?

Now we hear reports that McCain and Palin are hiding from the press. They won't take questions. Look, if these two people aren't savvy enough to answer questions from the press, how the hell can we expect them to respond to questions from world leaders. McCain and Palin can hide all they want but it just demonstrates that they don't have the backbone to face the truth and the American public.

Once again, I'll repeat my mantra. If you have enjoyed the financial lows, job losses, foreclosures, and endless war that the Bush administration has provided over the last 8 years, then rejoice. A McCain-Palin administration will give you the same. McCain is just like George W. Bush, only older, grumpier, and with a bad temper.

McCain: Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire

Once again the lies coming out of John McCain's mouth are astounding. McCain is lying when he says Obama will raise taxes for the middle class. McCain lies when he says that he has not been influenced by lobbyists. His top campaign advisers are all lobbyists!!!!! Sometimes McCain denies that he said something (like when he denied that he said he knows nothing about economics). Is it possible that McCain has become so good at lying that he cannot tell the difference between the truth and lies?

Yesterday McCain said the economy is strong. Really?
1. Lehman Brothers' bankruptcy is the largest bankruptcy in American history. (Lehman brothers has been in business since the 1840's.)
2. Hewlett-Packard will cut 24,000 jobs, according to NPR.
3. AIG is on the brink of financial problems.
4. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics: the unemployment rate was 6.1% in August.

Some of the largest insurance and financial companies are going down the toilet, but McCain said everything is wonderful and sound. Phil Gramm, McCain's economic adviser, believes that the regulation of banks and financial institutions is wrong. Seriously. Gramm has ties to the Enron collapse. Don't you wonder what world McCain is living in that has him completely divorced from reality? It might be that having a private plan, 7 houses, and $500 shoes makes him think that the economy is strong.

Sarah Palin isn't any better. She said she told Washington "NO THANKS" when it came to the 'bridge to nowhere.' She is lying and all the major news media have said it. Are Republicans so stupid that they believe this crap???? Yesterday, Palin said, according to MSNBC, ".....government often “gets in the way when innovators” take on diseases like cancer and Parkinson’s disease....." That means that McCain and Palin plan to cut funding to cancer and Parkinson's disease, that way the government won't be in the way. Palin doesn't believe in free rape kits for victims of rape, doesn't believe in science, is against equal pay for women, has worked in secret negotiations with oil companies, wants to remove polar bears from the endangered species list, has employed high school friends in her state government, and now is refusing to comply with the investigation of the "Troopergate Scandal" in her state.

Sounds to me like McCain-Palin is just like Bush-Cheney, only scarier. The only way to get out of this mess is to vote for real change. Vote for Barack Obama for President.

Point the Finger of Blame Toward Bush and McCain

If you looked at the stock market today or followed the financial news on CNBC-TV, you are well aware of the mess in the financial markets. Who is to blame? When you point the finger of blame, make sure it is directed at the Bush-McCain loosey-goosey, let it ride, do whatever you please philosophy for banks, financial institutions, and market consultants. It is so sad that so many people lost their jobs, but sooner or later it had to happen. The Bush administration has favored de-regulation. This is what you get. This is the worst day in the financial markets since 9/11. The Huffington Post has a full rundown.

If you like watching the failures of the stock market and banks, you should support John McCain for President. McCain's plan for the economy is a duplicate copy of George W. Bush's.

McCain Offers Nothing

It is incredible. If they gave awards for the sleaziest, dirtiest presidential campaign, John McCain and his lobbyist-filled campaign would win. Have you seen this You Tube video (posted at MyDD)?



The McCain campaign has lied about the number of people in their crowds (LINK). I guess the McCain campaign still can't attract supporters and so they lie. McCain wants Americans to believe that more and more people are jumping on his bandwagon now that he has Palin. However, McCain doesn't realize that there are many women who are very, very insulted and angry about his views and those of his vice presidential candidate. McCain has been lying about his record. Since McCain doesn't use or understand the internet, he cannot fathom the idea that people are reading and researching all of his votes and quotes. There are many people who know more about McCain's voting record than he even remembers.

It looks like we have even more confirmation that John McCain knows nothing about economics. Our country is in a deep recession and on the brink of a depression. McCain's proposals could push the U.S. over the edge.

By the way, even the women in Alaska are not pleased with ditto-head Sarah Palin. The "Alaska Women Reject Palin Rally" was a big success. Even in Alaska, women know that Sarah Palin is unqualified and too vindictive to be Vice President.

I saw this over at DailyKos---- On August 25, 1994, John McCain voted against H.R. 3355, according to the U.S. Senate website. The bill, was designed to put an end to women being charged for a rape kit after a sexual assault. According to JedReport at DailyKos:

....McCain not only opposed Biden's legislation, but also has voted against funding it as recently as October 2007.

McCain voted against final passage of Biden's legislation. He had supported an earlier version, but on the question of actually making the legislation the law of the land, McCain joined 35 conservative Republicans (and 2 Democrats) and said "no" to ensuring that all women had access to rape exams free of charge....

Seriously, is there something wrong with John McCain? Why would he vote against providing free rape kits to women who've been sexually assaulted? Does he have no respect for women? His lack of caring and understanding makes me really question his decency and honor.

Another Heck of a Job Moment from the Bush Administration

The Canadian Press:

Government officials handling billions of dollars in oil royalties engaged in illicit sex with employees of energy companies they were dealing with and received numerous gifts from them, federal investigators said Wednesday.

The alleged transgressions involve 13 Interior Department employees in Denver and Washington. Their alleged improprieties include rigging contracts, working part-time as private oil consultants, and having sexual relationships with - and accepting golf and ski trips and dinners from - oil company employees, according to three reports released Wednesday by the Interior Department's inspector general.

The investigations reveal a "culture of substance abuse and promiscuity" by a small group of individuals "wholly lacking in acceptance of or adherence to government ethical standards," wrote Inspector General Earl E. Devaney.....

The Bush Administration has had so many scandals:
1. The Katrina FEMA response headed by "heck of a job, Brownie."
2. Right wing, Republican, no experience "lawyers" placed within the Department of Justice to help Attorney General Gonzalez.
3. The leaking of the name of an undercover CIA agent by the White House goons.
4. The lies created to invade Iraq.
5. Sending our military to war without the proper equipment.
Etc. Etc. Etc.

To think that John McCain has supported George W. Bush 90% of the time makes me feel sure that I'd never vote for McSame. Seeing as how Bush and McSame are joined at the hip, another Republican administration would only bring more of the same. We cannot afford four more years of the same policies.

Okay, I have had it up to here!!!! I am sick of the McCain-Palin smears on Barack Obama. I am sick of the spineless journalists who refuse to fight and ask questions of the Republican ticket. I am sick of the media telling us what a wonderful mother Palin is. I am sick of McCain talking about change when he refuses to talk about issues.

I am a 57 year old, college educated married woman and mother. Both of my daughters are grown. I'd rather stick a fork in my eye than vote for John McCain! (That would make a great bumper sticker!!!!)

There are some questions I'd like to ask both McCain and Palin.

Today I heard that more and more white women were starting to support McCain. Are you ****** kidding me? Which group took these polls? As a woman myself, I think that any woman that supports the presidency of John McCain is a fool.

* Bob Barr, now on The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC, said at one time John McCain had up to 5 dozen lobbyists working for him. Wow.

Really? No one else understands what war is like? Only the McCain family has suffered the most? I'm sure that there are many military families that would disagree. Today, not only are our young men and women dying in the Bush-McCain Iraq war, but many are suffering life altering physical and mental wounds. But remember, only the McCain family knows what war is like.

Does "maverick" mean "liar"?

McCain and right wing religious nut, Sarah Palin, call themselves "mavericks" on TV and public speaking events. However, I'd suggest that every single time we read and see the word "maverick" that we think of the word "liar".

John McCain says he is a maverick. Yet he voted with Bush 90% of the time. What is so "mavericky" about that? Isn't that supporting the status quo?

Sarah Palin says she is a maverick. However, she supported the "bridge to nowhere" before she was against it. Palin left the city she was mayor of in deep debt. Besides, why isn't more information coming out about Palin? Where are her tax returns? Do you remember how Fox News attacked Hillary Clinton about her tax returns (link)? How does Palin charge her state for flying her family around Alaska, to the NCAA tournament games, etc., etc., etc. Palin lied about selling the state jet on Ebay. She lied about firing her chef. How many other lies are there? It looks to me like there are some dirty little secrets in Alaska that are rapidly being covered up by the McCain operatives. I wish that some journalists would do their job and get to the truth.

McCain has voted against the minimum wage (19 times). He supports health insurance paying for "male enhancement medication" but not for birth control pills. McCain is against equal pay for women. McCain wants to tax your health insurance benefits. McCain continues to vote against issues important to women.

Face it. McCain and Palin are working to undo all the advancements women have made since the 50's. If you want to keep abortion safe and available, you won't vote for McCain. No one is pro-abortion. However, it is important that American women continue to have the right to determine what happens to their own bodies. To protect that right and to get us out of Iraq, we must vote for Obama.

Still, Bush and McCain refuse to take responsibility for the lack of initiative.

According to Barack Obama, our economy is weaker today than any other time since the Great Depression because of Bush, McCain, and the Republicans.

If we want to get our economy out of the deep hole that McCain and Bush have created, we must vote for Obama and Biden.

John McCain and his campaign staff of lobbyists have been keeping Sarah Palin out of sight except for special appearances with McCain. Why would they do this? Sarah Palin knows as much as my dog about foreign policy. She also lacks knowledge in the areas of immigration, the national economy, rebuilding our country's infrastructure, NATO, disability laws, environmental laws, veterans' affairs, etc., etc. As you read this, McCain's lobbyist campaign staff, Karl Rove, and former Bush staff members, are providing some instruction in these areas as well as talking points and catch phrases.

Aren't there some questions you'd like to ask of Sarah Palin? Here are a few questions that I'd like to ask:

> Since you had the choice on whether to continue your own pregnancy, why are you against other women having that right?
> What causes global warming?
> What proposals do you have regarding immigration that are fair and humanitarian?
> Do you think that abstinence education was a successful sex education program regarding your daughter?
> Do you think that veterans' medical benefits should be rationed, as Sen. McCain has proposed? Which veterans would you deny medical benefits?
> How soon should U.S. troops be pulled out of Iraq?

I'm sure that you could come up with other questions. I hope that we'll be able to submit some questions for the debate because this woman needs to explain her right wing views to Americans.

By the way, I think that if Cindy McCain wants to dress in clothing worth $300,000, that is her business. It is just hard to believe that she and Sen. McCain understand the plight of the American working family. If you can afford $300,000 for one outfit, you aren't shopping the same discount stores that I favor.

If you watch the Republican convention and thought you'd never seen so many old white men at a convention---- you were right. Here are a few statistics about the Republican convention delegates:

Only 1% were African-American

5% were Hispanic

68% Male

32% Female

If you like the politics of right wing America, vote for McCain.
If you think that there is nothing wrong with the American economy, vote for McCain.
If you want the American agenda to be controlled by old white men and lobbyists, vote for McCain.
If you support continuing the Iraq war and spending $10 billion/month there, vote for McCain.

However, if you know that, as a nation, we can and must do better, you need to help Sen. Obama. Change will not happen with a 72 year old man who is entrenched in Washington and with lobbyists. John McCain is just an older, angrier, more cynical version of George W. Bush.

Palin is Nothing But A Prop for Right Wingers

I read Sarah Palin's speech online and it is just a bunch of right wing trash. Joe Biden said that Palin's speech did not even contain one reference to the middle class. I checked the speech, and Biden is correct. Palin's speech did not contain the words Afghanistan, health care, or Social Security. The only words I read were verbal attacks on Sen. Barack Obama. How can Palin compare her experience with Senator Obama's? Palin's experience is like pre-school, compared to Obama's experience, education, and travels.

What are Palin's qualifications? She was the mayor of a city with a population of 6,700 people and her mayoral job was primarily ceremonial. Palin has been Alaska's governor for 20 months. 20 months! The state of Alaska has half the population of the Columbus metropolitan area.

John McCain, who has been a media darling for ten years, suddenly isn't talking to the press. He now blames everything on the press. Incredible. I guess all those cookouts for TV and newspaper journalists at his Arizona ranch didn't pay off for McCain.

There is a lot to worry about with John McCain as President. Does McCain suffer from some neurological and psychological problems, memory loss, anger management concerns because of his time as a P.O.W. or his advanced age? Is it possible that some of the problems he exhibits are the results of dementia? Shouldn't the nation be worried about a candidate that has had repeated instances of malignant melanoma? I'm just asking. Here is a list of things I've observed:

1. McCain has problems with teleprompters. Is it confusion or a processing problem? (Do a Google search of McCain and teleprompters. Amazing!)
2. McCain denies that he is cozy with lobbyists even though they are part of his campaign.
3. McCain continues to confuse Sunni and Shia.
4. McCain still doesn't know that the country Czechoslovakia doesn't exist.
5. McCain, Mr. Foreign Policy Expert, was confused about the Iraq and Pakistan border (It doesn't exist.).
6. McCain still denies that he said he doesn't understand the economy. (see ABC News)
7. McCain thinks that a person making $5 million is middle class. I'd say he has lost touch with reality.
8. McCain doesn't know how many homes he and his wife own.

McCain and Palin do not believe in equal pay for women. How can any hardworking American woman cast a vote for them?

When I vote this November, I'll be voting for the future of my children and their families. I'll be voting for Barack Obama and Joe Biden because they are concerned about all Americans, not just corporations. I'll be voting to end the Bush years.

Campaigning in eastern Ohio, Obama noted that McCain campaign manager Rick Davis had said the election would be decided largely on voters' perceptions of the candidates' personalities. "This election is not about issues," Davis told the Washington Post this week. "This election is about a composite view of what people take away from these candidates."

Obama mentioned Davis' comment three times during a one-hour appearance at an outdoor forum on economic issues facing women. He used it to accuse speakers at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn., of avoiding talk about job losses, home foreclosures and other issues....

Keep Working For Obama

For far too long, the media has had a lovefest with John McCain. They never asked probing questions. They treated him with kid gloves. Now, the media has developed a spine, and McCain stomps off and refuses to talk or answer questions.

There are some items we have to keep in mind. The Republicans are saying that Sarah Palin has more foreign policy experience than Obama and Biden. Do you really believe this crap? Here is something from the Alaska National Guard General about Palin's national defense activities (Huffington Post):

....Maj. Gen. Craig Campbell, adjutant general of the Alaska National Guard, considers Palin "extremely responsive and smart" and says she is in charge when it comes to in-state services, such as emergencies and natural disasters where the National Guard is the first responder.

But, in an interview with The Associated Press on Sunday, he said he and Palin play no role in national defense activities, even when they involve the Alaska National Guard. The entire operation is under federal control, and the governor is not briefed on situations....

No matter what the GOP says, don't give up the fight for Obama. Get up, volunteer, and work for change. Be part of history.

Obama-Biden: The Best Choice

Right now the stuff coming out of the Republican Party is being orchestrated by Karl "Turd Blossom" Rove. We know what kind of person Rove is. He is no mensch. He is more of a putz. Rove and McCain are working to convince the American people that a person who was the mayor of a city half the size of Bexley, Ohio, is qualified to be Vice President. This is just more of Republican propaganda, the kind that Bush and Cheney have used over the last eight years.

This is all about judgment. John McCain is willing to risk the plight of the nation because he chose someone who is untested and unprepared for the magnitude of national government. McCain thought that Sarah Palin was the best qualified person as his nominee. What does this say about McCain, a 72 year old man with 4 bouts of malignant melanoma, taking this type of risk for the nation?

Palin is governor of a state that has a population 670,000 (2006 estimate: source). Columbus, Ohio, has a population of 747,755 (source). The Columbus metropolitan area has well over 1,000,000 people.

If people like the condition of this country, then vote for hot head McCain, because he'll give you more of the same. However, if you are smart and have common sense, you'll vote for Obama and Biden.

McCain's Looks Old and Appears Reckless

If you've seen pictures of John McCain recently, you'll notice that that man looks tired, old, and slow. It is apparent that the long campaign is taking a toll on McCain. He seems to be messing up with his words, slow to respond to questions, and just plain exhausted. Your typical 72 year old man, let alone a man who has had bouts of cancer, cannot endure the travel, meetings, speeches, and rigors of a busy campaign.

McCain's pick of Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate also indicates something about McCain---- he is reckless and not very thorough. It looks like his campaign did not fully check out the background of Sarah Palin. Every single day there is a new revelation about Palin's background, associations, and family life.

In the past, when McCain had been ill, the public was notified weeks later. Is McCain feeling well now? Has his slowdown and apparent missteps been the results of his lack of attention, poor health, or just plain recklessness?

McCain and Bush think the economy is perfect. However, they don't pump their own gas, buy their own groceries, or shop for their own clothing. They are clearly out of touch.

Here are Obama's economic plans to help the middle class:

Jumpstart the Economy

• Enact a Windfall Profits Tax to Provide a $1,000 Emergency Energy Rebate to American Families:Barack Obama will enact a windfall profits tax on excessive oil company profits to give American families an immediate $1,000 emergency energy rebate to help families pay rising bills. This relief would be a down payment on Obama's long-term plan to provide middle-class families with at least $1,000 per year in permanent tax relief.
• Provide $50 billion to Jumpstart the Economy and Prevent 1 Million Americans from Losing Their Jobs: This relief would include a $25 billion State Growth Fund to prevent state and local cuts in health, education, housing, and heating assistance or counterproductive increases in property taxes, tolls or fees. Obama’s relief plan will also include $25 billion in a Jobs and Growth Fund to prevent cutbacks in road and bridge maintenance and fund school re­pair - all to save more than 1 million jobs in danger of being cut.

Provide Middle Class Americans Tax Relief

Obama will cut income taxes by $1,000 for working families to offset the payroll tax they pay.

• Provide a Tax Cut for Working Families: Obama will restore fairness to the tax code and provide 150 million workers the tax relief they need. Obama will create a new "Making Work Pay" tax credit of up to $500 per person, or $1,000 per working family. The "Making Work Pay" tax credit will completely eliminate income taxes for 10 million Americans.
• Eliminate Income Taxes for Seniors Making Less than $50,000: Barack Obama will eliminate all income taxation of seniors making less than $50,000 per year. This proposal will eliminate income taxes for 7 million seniors and provide these seniors with an average savings of $1,400 each year. Under the Obama plan, 27 million American seniors will also not need to file an income tax return.
• Simplify Tax Filings for Middle Class Americans: Obama will dramatically simplify tax filings so that millions of Americans will be able to do their taxes in less than five minutes. Obama will ensure that the IRS uses the information it already gets from banks and employers to give taxpayers the option of pre-filled tax forms to verify, sign and return. Experts estimate that the Obama proposal will save Americans up to 200 million total hours of work and aggravation and up to $2 billion in tax preparer fees.
