Reading Body Language, Looking for Truth
The New York Times has a picture of the "big meeting" that took place at the White House. Bush and former cabinet member of various administrations met to discuss Iraq. Before you read the article, look at the picture. Former Secretary of State Colin Powell is not even close to President Bush in the picture. Why? Did he choose to stand in that area, or was he placed there? Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright seemed to have the most courage of all those in attendance. Secretary Albright, thank you for speaking up. According to the article, Albright said the war in Iraq was "taking up all the energy" of President Bush's foreign policy team, she asked Mr. Bush whether he had let nuclear programs in Iran and North Korea spin out of control, and Latin America and China policy suffer by benign neglect.
