The Rundown

-Jon Stewart made the point that several months ago Tony Snow said that the firing of the U.S. Attorneys was based on performance. However, on June 13th, Tony Snow said that he never said the firings were based on performance.

-Have you seen the slides from the Creationist Museum? Pictures are available here. The one picture that is incredible is the one that shows their belief that human beings could ride on dinosaurs.

-NYPD has quite a choice of sirens available on their police cars, according to the New York Times. You can hear the various sirens here. (Warning: They are quite loud!!!)

-I don't bake a lot of cookies, but there is a site that has great cookie recipes. CookieMadness has yummy recipes and yummy pictures.

-AHN has this from Rudy Giuliani:

Republican presidential hopeful Rudolph Giuliani said he would consider increasing the number of U.S. troops in Iraq if the leader of military operations there requested more boots on the ground.

"If he said the strategy was working, and we needed more soldiers to make it work,'' Giuliani said in an interview today, "of course I'd look at that and consider that.''

Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, told Bloomberg News that he knew such a decision would be unpopular....

He'd increase the number of troops in Iraq???? Where the hell would he get the troops since the military is already stretched to the breaking point? Would he institute a draft to keep fighting Bush's war in Iraq? Just asking.
