Hate Driven Rhetoric

President Obama's first pick for a vacancy on the Supreme Court has exposed some real ugliness from the Republican Party. With Republicans like Rush Limbaugh, Tom Tancredo, Newt Gingrich, and others voicing their opposition to Judge Sonia Sotomayor's elevation to the highest court in the land, you wonder if other GOPers are uncomfortable with the nomination of a woman of Hispanic background as well. Since Limbaugh is considered the leader of the Republican Party, do his statements about Sotomayor represent everyone within the party?

I have many questions I'd like to ask members of the Republican Party. Here are a few of them:

* Are Americans of Hispanic/Latino background wanted within the GOP?
* Why is there such hatred spewing from the mouths of Limbaugh, Tancredo, and Gingrich, and yet no one within the GOP tells them to stop?
* Why are there so few women and minorities in offices of power within their party?
* Do members of the Republican Party care that their party appears to be anti-everyone except white males?
* Will Senate Republicans give Sotomayor a fair hearing, or will they continue to focus on one comment she made many years ago?

I'm sure that if you were given the chance, you'd have better questions than mine. In my humble opinion, the Republican Party just looks like a party that is exclusively white and driven by hate.
