Dinner Conversations

The conversations at our dinner with family members turned to the state of our country. No one seemed to be happy with the policies of the Bush administration, the war, and the economy. There was a consensus that our country needed either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton to be our next President. (The Republican presidential candidates were viewed as dangerous, self-absorbed, too religious, and/or just plain ridiculous.)

Questions About Republican Candidates

> Do you wonder if the Giuliani children spent any quality time with their father and his wife during Christmas?

> Since Mike Huckabee likes to hang out with right wing religious leaders, will he push to have women subservient to men as many of those leaders advocate? Why is Huckabee hanging out with right wing preachers who are notoriously anti-Catholic? Huckabee's friend, John Hagee, has called Catholicism a false religion. (According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, Iowa's Catholic population is listed at 241,173.)

> Is Romney for or against a woman's right to choose? He has flipped and flopped so many times, I'm not sure where he stands. If Romney were elected President, would he promote a Mormon agenda? Even though he gave a speech about his religious beliefs, he really didn't say much.

> What does Fred Thompson look like when he is awake?
