Tiberi

I don't know if you've seen the ad by Republican Rep. Pat Tiberi (OH-12), but I think it makes Tiberi look very uncomfortable.  Tiberi, who walks in lockstep with Boehner, seems out of place talking on his own without Boehner pulling his strings.

Tiberi voted against the stimulus bill, and then begged for stimulus dollars.  Do you remember this article from February 2010?

Cleveland.com:

...U.S. Rep. Pat Tiberi of suburban Columbus is among more than a dozen Republican lawmakers who criticized Obama's economic stimulus plan, then turned around and quietly sought money from the plan, according to a blistering story today in the Washington Times....
...In October, Tiberi complained that the stimulus package bill was "loaded with Nancy Pelosi's grab bag of big spending wishes" and that it "saddles future generations with mountains of debt," the Times reported.

Yet Tiberi "struck a different tone in a letter" to U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, the newspaper said....

Yes, folks, Tiberi actually wrote a letter to the Secretary of Agriculture trying to get money for a business in his district.  Incredible.

I don't know if you are knowledgeable about Ohio's 12th district, but it certainly could have used some help from Tiberi.  According to information gathered by the Ohio State University Exurban Change Program, 19.1% of the people in Tiberi's district had incomes less than $25,000/year in 2000.  Tiberi hasn't delivered to the people in Ohio's 12th congressional district.

Isn't just like Tiberi trying to cash in on some deal that he didn't support.

Rachel Maddow talked about the latest astroturfing by the Koch Brothers-- Rallyforjobs.org. They are busing in people who work for oil companies to make it seem like regular people are rising up against green jobs and green energy.  As Rachel Maddow pointed out, one of the "regular" persons who was a speaker in the Canton area, was actually Karen Buchwald-Wright, the president and CEO of Ariel Corporation, which manufactures gas compressors. The Akron Beacon Journal covered the event as news but the people involved were all employees of gas companies and manufacturers of gas products.  ThinkProgress has even more about this latest campaign to stop legislation to protect the environment, including a video from the event (see YouTube video) which stars Karen Buchwald-Wright!  Oh, the manufactured outrage!!!!!!

Some people will go to any lengths to stop legislation that protects our environment.

By the way, according to OpenSecrets, Koch Industries contributed $6000 to Steve Stivers, a former bank lobbyist and current Republican candidate.
