Military.com is reporting Sen. Charles Schumer's reaction to the minor shuffling of the White House staff: "The good news is the administration has finally realized it needs to change its ways, but the problems go far deeper than one staffer," said Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. "Simply rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic by replacing Andy Card with Josh Bolten without a dramatic change in policy will not right this ship." (Well done, Senator!)
>Did Jean Schmidt cut and run????? She's pulled out of a debate! The Enquirer has the story.
>How do you think our men and women in Iraq will feel when they find out that Bush lied to them? Do you think they've read the Downing Street Memo? Do you think our military reads Raw Story? Do you think they know that more and more service members are fleeing the U.S. to avoid going to Iraq? (just like Vietnam!) Will they be able to express themselves in the mil blogs? I doubt it.
>Ohio's Lt. Gov. Bruce Johnson, a Republican, said that Ohio's schools are not getting the job done. He blames parents. Johnson is wrong. He should blame the Republican controlled state legislature which has yet to act on school funding despite rulings by the State Supreme court. If anyone is failing in Ohio, it is the Republican controlled government. Johnson should also blame Bush's No Child Left Behind Act which has forced schools to follow a federal mandate without federal money.
In the same article, Republican Rep. Bob Ney, under investigation because of his ties to Jack Abramoff, said he supports President Bush. Ney also said "that we rooted out the Taliban. President Bush did the right thing." Ney is wrong. There have been increasing attacks on U.S. troops in Afghanistan because the Taliban is coming back. Why? Bush didn't do the job in getting Bin Laden and instead invaded Iraq.
>Ohio Republicans are attacking each other. The Tom "coingate" Noe scandal has provided enough stuff for Republicans for even the primaries.
>You've got to see this new ad---Bob Ney sold out for sushi????
