More Ohio politics......

* Is it possible that the new congressional map created by Ohio's Republicans could be illegal? Oh, please. Oh, please. Oh, please!

Chillicothegazette:

A maneuver by state lawmakers that would protect a Republican-drawn congressional map from the possibility of a repeal by voters likely is unconstitutional, but it would take the state's highest court to answer the question definitively, legal experts said Thursday....

..... legal experts point to Ohio Supreme Court decisions that indicate that adding appropriations to such measures doesn't always mean they can't be repealed.

"It seems to me that the bottom line is the redistricting plan is subject to referendum (voter repeal)," said Prof. Daniel Tokaji, an election law expert at the Moritz College of Law at the Ohio State University.....

We'll see what happens.  If it goes up for a referendum, and Kasich is associated with it, the new redistricting plan could be thrown into the trash.

>>>  Another week is passing and Republican Josh Mandel still has not filed his financial disclosure with the U.S. Senate.  Mandel, a tea party Republican, has been able to delay his required paperwork for over 128 days!!!!  OMG!  WTF!

Vindy:

You would think as the state treasurer, Josh Mandel would have a good grasp of finances.

But Mandel, a Republican, is apparently having trouble figuring out his own personal finances....

...Joe Aquilino, Mandel’s campaign spokesman, said the reason for the delay is the result of questions regarding the financial assets of the candidate’s wife.....

How is this even possible?  Wouldn't Mandel and his wife have records of their finances from their broker, accountants, bank statements, etc.?  Are they hoping that people will forget about their inability to meet deadlines and follow the law?  Is there something they are trying to hide?

Mandel portrays himself as an honorable man but this kind of delay and lack of a full explanation is not honorable, or honest.  Ohio voters want the truth.
