Shocking News

Ohio residents that care about wildlife, conservation, and the environment will be shocked to hear about the latest target for the frackers---- The Wilds.

The Other Paper:

Last September, American Electric Power and Texas drilling company Anadarko Petroleum reached an agreement to allow hydraulic fracturing for oil and natural gas—the controversial “fracking”—at the Wilds, home to hundreds of rare and endangered animals that’s operated by the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.

Five months later, on Feb. 23, the zoo found out about it. From a reporter....

.....So are zoo leaders feeling blindsided and betrayed by AEP, a longtime corporate supporter?

“I don’t think that’s the word I would use,” said zoo president and CEO Dale Schmidt. “But we would have liked to have heard about it sooner.”

I guess we'd better go see The Wilds before the land, water, air, and most importantly, the animals are destroyed.   The Wilds, which has many species, also has accommodations for visitors.

How many animals will die because of the contamination of the environment?

* This year, the evidence against Ohio House Rep. Mike Duffey is growing.  Duffey doesn't reflect the opinions and issues of the people in his district.

>  Mike Duffey voted to cut school funding and was a cosponsor of HB 30.  See more information about HB 30 at Project Vote Smart
>  Mike Duffey voted for SB 5, the bill to end collective bargaining in Ohio.
>  Mike Duffey voted for HB 1, the Kasich super secret JobsOhio agency that uses our tax money to reward corporations.
> Letters to the Editor of SNPonline, show that Mike Duffey's effort to get opinions from constituents does not work (see letter #1).
>  Some constituents said that Duffey did not even respond to their letters and phone calls.
>  Duffey seems to have close political ties to Kasich (see photo 1, 2, & article here.).

----->  People everywhere are rejoicing at the news that Republican Rep. Jean Schmidt (OH-2) has lost her primary (USA Today).
