Republicans Support Greedy Bankers

Sen. Mitch McConnell, Republican leader and bank fan, has decided that he'd rather protect greedy bankers.

Chicagonow.com has a few things to say about all this love that the Republicans have for bankers:

(Even the writer's title gets right to the point.)

Who will look out for the bankers who robbed us? Republicans of course!

...McConnell of course hates this bill also - because it regulates his rich friends on Wall Street and was created by someone other than Republicans. McConnell, who receives more campaign donations from the financial industry than any other senator, said this without laughing - he isn't for Wall Street, he's for community banks in Kentucky. But none of those banks were represented in a closed-door meeting McConnel was involved in, that included two-dozen Wall Street bankers. A meeting which, after leaving, he become focused on watering-down or killing the bill....

...Bush, Cheney and the rest of them took a massive surplus, worked it into a massive deficit and enter wars in two countries. Meanwhile, the Republican-run houses approved every spending measure and deregulation possible....

We've lived through a terrible recession, but it seems that the Republicans would rather live through it again than protect people from backroom shenanigans from bankers.
