The Democratic Party

I absolutely had to watch the gavel to gavel coverage of the Democratic National Convention. C-SPAN had the best coverage because it did not have news anchors talking over the speeches. Just in looking at the delegates makes one understand that the Democratic Party is an all inclusive political party. Every ethnic group was represented and that made me proud. In between speakers, music was played in the convention center last night. And, as my husband said, the Democrats always have the best music.

I was especially moved by the appearance of Sen. Ted Kennedy. Despite his illness, it looks like nothing could keep him away from making it to the podium.

Michelle Obama spoke of her roots in the south side of Chicago, how she met Barack, and how her husband has the compassion and fortitude to be President. She was terrific.

I'll be tuning in again tonight to watch the convention. We Democrats certainly know how to throw a party!!!!

______

John McCain's campaign wants to pull women over to his campaign. If McCain were elected President, women's rights would become secondary to the rights of corporations. Besides, do you want an old man like McCain deciding if you can have access to birth control? Do you want judges appointed by McCain that would decide if you have certain rights because you are a woman?
