> Ohio Republicans have threatened to sue Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, a Democrat, over a law that the Republican controlled Ohio legislature passed. (See Cleveland.com.) Go figure.
> John McCain was on the Tonight Show last night. When Jay Leno asked McCain about the 7 houses he owned, John McCain pulled out the P.O.W. story. OMG! We know McCain was a P.O.W. but he needs to answer the damn question and stop hiding behind the P.O.W. thing.
> Have you noticed some of McCain's recent rallies are in front of high school students? What is the deal? Does the McCain campaign force some high school teacher to bring her class to stand behind him at one of his town hall meetings? I really feel sorry for those kids. If I had been a teacher in that position, I would have refused the request. Is McCain so hard up for audiences that he has to pull in reluctant school children to use as a backdrop?
> Here is a story that will let you think McCain has lost it: (from The Guardian)
John McCain sent his wife to Georgia to talk with President Mikheil Saakashvili. Would you send your wife to a war zone. Is the McCain campaign sooooooooooooo desperate for attention that they'll send anyone to an unstable part of the world just for publicity?
> Update: I just caught McCain at the VFW convention. McCain tried to explain why he voted against the "New G.I. Bill" but it just did not make any sense. He kept talking about keeping the V.A. medical services available for only "eligible" vets. Which vets would McCain say were ineligible for treatment? McCain has talked in the past about restricting medical benefits for vets. He also mentioned that if he were president and any type of amendment was attached to a funding bill for vets, he'd veto the whole thing. McCain seems more and more like a jerk. Why would he have the right to decide which veteran was more deserving of treatment? Sounds to me like he is trying to ration medical treatment. When our young men and women joined our military service, they were promised V.A. benefits. Now McCain wants to change that?
> Thank goodness that the Big Ten Network and Time Warner Cable have worked out a deal so that we can see our Ohio State Buckeyes!!!!!! (see Dispatch.)
