'Asked about the criticism, the former president said, "I think any time there's a crisis people want to blame someone. I've never been much for the Monday morning quarterbacking and to be very candid, Larry, I think some of the criticism had been grossly unfair, particularly when they suggest the president doesn't care and all of that.'
You know what's unfair? People had to wait 5 days or more for food and water in the distressed areas.
You know what's unfair? The elderly, the sick, the young, and all the displaced people were forced to wait while FEMA sat on their asses trying to figure out what to do.
You know what's unfair? There was funding for research and repair of the levees, but the Bush administration cut the funding.
You know what's unfair? Besides the trauma of surviving the storm and the aftermath, now people have the anguish of worrying about missing family members.
You know what's unfair? While this president was on vacation and attending fundraisers, preventive measures could have been utilized (using school buses to evacuate neighborhoods).
You know what's unfair? Thousands of people will be dead.
You know what's unfair? Politics will get into play for recovery and rebuilding: Those states with GOP governors will get help first.
You know what's unfair? The presidential election was last year.
