Finally Some News

UPDATE: Scooter Libby has been indicted for 2 counts of perjury, 2 counts of false statements and 1 count of obstruction of justice. (This was just read on CNN.)

Will Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald make an announcement today? Who knows. According to the Washington Post, Rove and Libby are busy:
"Two sources said I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Vice President Cheney's chief of staff, was shopping for a white-collar criminal lawyer and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove began assembling a public relations team in the event they are indicted."

Assembling a public relations team? I think this is very strange. Will there be campaign ads on TV advocating their innocence? During the Watergate hearings, Erlichman, Haldeman, Mitchell, and Liddy did not have pr firms representing their interests. Why wouldn't someone accused of a crime spend their time and money (if they had money) on hiring the best lawyers available?

Tom Noe, big GOP fundraiser, has not been arrested as of this time. The stories about Ohio's corruption are really giving the state a black eye. Stories about Noe here and here
