Just the Facts

Ohio is awash with Republican mischief. We've had Coingate, Golfgate, Pay to Playgate. The problem in Ohio is that we have one party rule and the GOP controls the agenda. Here are the facts:
* The Ohio Senate is 72% Republican.
* The Ohio House of Representatives is 61% Republican.
* The Ohio Executive Branch is 100% Republican (Governor, Lt. Governor, Sec'y of State, Auditor, Attorney General).

The imbalance has been caused by Republican gerrymandering. Just in case you have forgotten the definition of gerrymandering, let me help you. Gerrymandering is the deliberate drawing of political boundaries by a political party to allow their party to remain in control. As you can tell, the Ohio Republicans have created districts that favor their own party.

What difference does it make? If one party is always in control, some issues might never get the attention they deserve. The GOP pushed the DOMA (the Defense of Marriage Act) even though they should have used their time and energy to work out an equitable school funding program. They would rather push their moral agenda, instead of helping school children. With one party rule, there are no checks and balances. Those in control can participate in unethical practices knowing that the other political party does not have the power to initiate an investigation.

The last two presidential elections have shown that even our voting methods are controlled by the Republican Party. The Ohio Republicans have done NOTHING to help the average Ohioan. We have had massive job losses and poverty has increased in our state. Republicans keep saying that they are creating jobs, but we know it is not true. If you've been job hunting, or you've had a son/daughter looking for a job, you know that the jobs are few in number and very low paying.

It is time for all Ohioans to say ENOUGH! Help Ohio have fair and open elections by voting FOR ISSUES 2, 3, 4, & 5 . Your support is needed to change the way Ohio does business.
