Oh, My Goodness!

Breaking News: Tom Noe, the coin dealer, has been indicted on 3 counts. There is an arrest warrant out for him. His surrender is being arranged with Noe's attorney. There are 24 conduits (other people) who are somehow involved with Noe's plan to skirt around campaign regulations. This investigation involved county, state, and federal personnel and is still ongoing. Rep. Bob Ney (OH-18-R), friend of Jack Abramoff, is under more scrutiny and his people are defending him. Even though he has paid out over $136.000 to lawyers, Ney's staff said he has done nothing wrong. The story is here.

The Chicago White Sox have won the World Series!
They only waited 88 years. The final score of the 4th game was 1-0.

Update: 9am-NBC News: Harriet Miers withdraws her name for nomination to the SCOTUS. The White House didn't want to release information to bolster their claims that she was an expert on the constitution and other areas.
This is not a surprise. Some people expected this to happen just before any announcements about the leak indictments. Also, according to Tim Russert, there were not 51 Senators who would vote for her nomination. Also, late word says that Rev. Dobson made it clear to the righties that he did not want to testify in front of the Senate committee and that pressure helped push her out. Who is running this administration?

Have you heard of Susan B. Ralston? She is an aid to Karl Rove and involved somehow in the leak scandal and the investigation of Jack Abramoff. Meanwhile, Washington DC is on pins and needles waiting for word from the Special Prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald. Most of the "nervous nellies" are probably in the White House. There have been no leaks from Fitzgerald and he has not had press conferences with the media. The Post has a great article about how people are coping while they wait for information.

Judge Wapner is voicing his opposition to California's Proposition 77. Governor Schwarzenegger can't be happy to have the judge from TV's "The People's Court" speaking against his issue. Here is another little anti-Schwarzenegger ad: http://www.schwarzeneggerstreet.com/
