These are the rants and raves of a stubborn-headed, midwestern, baby boomer, liberal, wife, mother, and grandmother. My goals are to speak my mind and educate others about some of the events in our world.

Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks died at her home in Detroit last night. When I taught school, I made sure that each of my students knew the story of Rosa Parks. Her life also help illustrate the power that one individual has in changing the world. With her act of courage on that bus fifty years ago, she helped launch a bus boycott, a civil rights movement, and the career of a young minister, Dr. Martin Luther King. The story is here and here and here. You may also wish to check this site for more tributes to Rosa Parks. http://lashawnbarber.com/archives/2005/10/25/rosaparks/
