GOP House Leaders Use Strong Arm Tactics

Well, if the House GOP can rule by reason, they can rule by bullying their party members. When some GOP House members voted against Hastert, DeLay, and environment-ruining oil refineries, the big brownshirts of the GOP put some pressure on them. Excerpts below from: http://today.reuters.com/News/CrisesArticle.aspx?storyId=N075245

"In the first major House vote since Texan Tom DeLay was forced to step down as majority leader, Republicans won, 212-210, in a roll call that ran more than 40 minutes, far beyond the allotted five minutes."

"When over two dozen Republicans initially voted no, DeLay, Barton, House Speaker Dennis Hastert and new Majority Leader Roy Blunt circled the chamber and cajoled the holdouts."

Stories like this just make you wish that the House members were up for election this year instead of 2006. We've got to get the corrupt GOP members out of power.
